– International Society of Business Journalists Award for Best Feature Story in 2005 for the article about Highland Park Police Officers stripping sex offenders of their handcuffs, not knowing it was against department policy. The Oakland Press nominated the article

– Finalist at the 2006 Michigan Press Association Award in Online Excellence for the article about a woman with over 50 credit cards stolen from her car. The Detroit Free Press nominated the story – Honorable Mention at the 2007 Michigan Press Association Award in Online Excellence for his blog that discusses Big Ten Football and his sports blog about football and baseball, as well as his online columns published in online magazines. The Detroit Free Press nominated the story.
