Gary McGaghey is a graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds a BS in Accounting, Auditing, Tax, and Finance, a South African Chartered Accountant, and a Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma. Before his role as the CFO at Williams Lea Tag, he was the CFO of F&N Brands and was responsible for that company’s growth and equity-raising efforts.
He joined the corporate finance division of KPMG after graduating in 1992. In 1997, he joined the private equity division at The Parthenon Group in London. His role there included evaluating acquisition targets and raising funds. He also worked on the global monthly financial reporting team.
Gary McGaghey is the Chief Financial Officer of Williams Lea Tag and has provided financial leadership to the company since September 2006. Mr. McGaghey joined Williams Lea Tag in 2004 as the Group Financial Controller, responsible for compiling and analyzing monthly financial statements, managing corporate reporting, and working with the local accounting staff in Johannesburg.
Gary McGaghey left his role as the CFO of Williams Lea Tag in 2017 to join the chairmanship of Concorde Capital Holdings Group as the non-executive chairman and CFO. Throughout his term with the WLT Group, he has been instrumental in the company’s overall financial performance and growth. The company has grown from local retail and wholesale supply business to a global trading house.
Gary McGaghey has been involved in community outreach and has raised over R5 million for various not-for-profit organizations in South Africa and worldwide. Some of the organizations he has supported include; Afro-Nations, Centre for Victims of Torture in South Africa, Feed the Need, and World Vision.
