Since 1909 OSI Food Solutions has been offering food to its customers. Up until the 1950s, this was done at the butcher shop and wholesale level. Since that time they expanded into providing food to quick serve restaurants, retail outlets, and foodservice markets which is then sold to their customers. They have been a global supplier of processed food since the late 1970s and now have facilities in 17 nations. Their expansion, often through acquiring other companies, has resulted in a business that is one of America’s biggest privately-held companies. It would be easier to say what types of processed food OSI Food Solutions doesn’t offer than what it does.
They process beef, pork, and chicken including burgers, meatballs, sausages, strips, nuggets, patties, and more. They produce four types of fried foods including taquitos, fritters, tofu, and chicken fried steak. They process hot dogs, salami, pot roast, panini, pockets, frozen entrees, and beans. Other food they provide includes among others pizza, cookies, fresh dough, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, bananas, and apples. OSI Food Solutions has been processing chicken since the 1990s. This is an ever-increasing part of their business as consumers tastes have shifted to increasingly eating chicken globally. To keep up with demand they have had to remodel some of their processing facilities. One of these is the one they have in Toledo, Spain.
In order to meet increasing demand, this company spent almost $19 million to expand its capability to process chicken. After the project was completed it had a new high-production line inside that allows this company to process 24,000 tons of chicken each year. Prior to the plant remodeling, they could process just 12,000 tons annually. Due to the way that OSI Food Solutions treats it, employees, many choose to spend decades working for them. In the Chicago area, where their headquarters is located, they are hiring currently for accounts payable clerks, maintenance supervisors, productions supervisors, spotter drivers, maintenance mechanics, quality assurance technicians, and more. All of their available jobs are posted on their website and they also use other online job boards as well such as Indeed.
